BAIT LANDS A FINE CATCH FOR KEEN CRICKETER 09:45 - 17 June 2008 Scott, from Goxhill, who opens the bowling for Barton Town 2nds in the Lincolnshire League, is saying to local anglers: "If you love sea fishing and would like to go more often, but are constantly put off by the inconvenience of the drive to find a tackle shop to buy your bait, then our new local service is for you! "Squids In! - Sea Baits, based in Goxhill, specialises in supplying top quality frozen sea baits at what it describes as rock bottom prices, with deliveries straight to the customer's door on northern Lincolnshire orders above £25. "As the founder of Squids In - Sea Baits along with my business partner Steve Foster, we want to offer the best possible service we can by getting to know our customers," Scott said. "I believe if there is a good relationship between those of us interested in sea angling we can all benefit, through offers on bait, information on where and when to fish, matches and maybe make a few fishing buddies along the way. "Squids In! Sea Baits is something I truly believe in. I am a fellow angler which is the other main reason why I started this business. "The great thing for those who do live locally is I will aim to get all orders to you on the same day (depending on size of order) which means you never have to leave your armchair." Bait on offer includes frozen blacks, peeler and soft shell crabs, razors, calamari, loligo, and baby squid, plus the much-acclaimed newcomer Blueys, which, Scott says, is taking the angling world by storm. He added: "Fresh peeler crabs and worms are also supplied, subject to seasonal availability." Steve (52), who lives in Goxhill, was born in Cleethorpes and educated at Goxhill Primary School between 1960 and 1963. He lived in the South Manchester area for many years, gaining both a BSc in Environmental Science and an MSc in Health Physics from Salford University, and was a local government officer for 17 years. He subsequently ran his own property development businesses and garage business in Cheshire for 13 years before returning to his roots in Goxhill in 2001. He said: "Scott and I have become friends over the last five years, and when he had the idea for the new service, it seemed to me that it would fill a genuine gap in the local market. "When he asked me to design and operate a website for the business I was delighted to be able to help, and we went from there. "We are both excited to be involved, committed to the service, and very encouraged by the initial response, which shows much promise for the future." Scott was educated at Goxhill Primary School, moving on to Baysgarth Secondary School in Barton-Upon-Humber, then further education at Grimsby Institute, gaining an ONC in Mechanical Engineering. He said: "My angling career started from a very young age, fishing with my father. Since then it has become an extremely enjoyable hobby I pursue whenever time allows. "Even though I am only 23, I have many years' angling experience and understand the joys and frustrations of the hobby."
